In March of 1999 my husband and I found out that we were expecting our fist child.  We were extremely excited and overwhelmed.  Our First doctors visit informed us that we were expecting twins, I was six weeks pregnant at this time.  I began to have severe abdominal pain and occasional bleeding and I went to the doctor, to see what was wrong and I was informed that I was caring the babies to low and would have to have a circlause done inorder to carry them to term. 

Everything seemed to be going fine, until my ninth week of pregnancy.  The ultrasound revealed that one of the babies was not moving and forming has it should be.  He sent me to a wonderful specialist that done further testing.  It was at twelve weeks that I was told that my baby had "Limb Body Wall Complex" and that I should terminate the pregnancy.  After many tears and knowing that the Lord is still in the miracle working business, I came to the decision not to terminate, but to carry as long as possible.  After all, I was pregnant with twins and I could still have one healthy baby.  The doctors told me that if I continued the pregnancy that it would be dangerous to myself and the other baby.  They told me that if I did have a child that it would be deaf and mentally retarded, but I was stubborn and didn't care.  I continued to carry both babies, hoping and praying that the Lord would make all this go away.

When I was 26 weeks, I went into labor that was uncontrollable and gave birth to Hailee who weighed 2lbs 6oz, and Angel who weighed 2lbs 3oz.  Hailee went to the NICU and Angel went to heaven.  Angel was stillborn.  I later learned that she died of the Limb Body Wall Complex.  She did not form a abdominal cavity, and her lower extremities were very small. They said that all of her intestines were on the outside and the damage was to seroius to repair and she died.

 I have always wondered why the Lord chose me to go through this battle, but I now know that he gave me and even greated gift.  That was my little Hailee that is now 4 yrs. old.  She is perfectly healthy and is so smart and talented.  She prays every night and talks to her sister, she has a picture that has an Angel on it and she says that it is her Special Angel.  I know that doctors can make mistakes and I also know that the Lord is still in the miracle working business because Hailee is perfect in every way!  I hope that you enjoy my story and that it will help you to know that you are not alone, the Lord is always with you in everything you do.
