Amniotic Band Syndrome - ABS
Stevie's ABS Story

Stevie was born on September 3rd, 2005 with ABS. While Stevie was in my tummy, The Amniotic Bands wraped around my son's left arm from below his elbow down. My husband and I did not know until the day he was born. I will never the shock, when they laid my little boy on top of me, I can not explain all the feelings that rushed through me or what I felt for my little boy when I looked down and saw his arm.   I thought for awhile about all the things that he would have to go through. My heart broke for him as his mother, but he has proven to me that he is stronger than I.

At his very first Orthopedic oppointment my husband and I where very uneasy, we really didn't know what they were going to tell us. He might need a small surgry below his elbow to remove some of the extra skin the has grown at the tip below the elbow to fit him in the future for a little hand one day. He also goes back in April and he is a little trooper.

When we went I thought he was going to cry, boy was I wrong. My little Angel, He laughs at them and smiles so big. All I know is my son is the bravest little person I know considering what he has been through at such a young age. I am ever so proud of him and I am so glad that I could share our story with you.
