Gift's ABS Story |
Her name is Gift. She was born in Africa where she hasn't had access to corrective medical care until now. Her foot is severely turned in as a club foot, and is already hard and roughly scarred. The fingers on one hand are almost gone, on the other they are deformed. Above Gift’s right knee, the flesh is constricted, as if pulled tight by a rubber band. Tell tale Amniotic Band syndrome. Stella, Gift’s Mum, says: "Immediately after she was born, we saw this little girl as a Gift from God." |

Holly was affected by ABS on her right hand, she has a smaller index finger, her left hand 3 fingers fused together, 3 toes that were attached by banding but have now split, on Holly's other foot 2 toes are still fused together and a deep line around her ankle where the banding cut deep, and nearly cut off the circulation. |

Isabella's ABS Story |
Ultrasounds showed that Isabella would be born with clubfoot but at birth she had more signs of ABS: some of her fingers and toes were amputated, two toes were together, one foot was longer than the other, missing toe nails, and she had a few skin tags. |
