  Terri's ABS Story  There are many lessons I have learned over the years, the most important one is never give up, there is always a way. The other lesson I learned is that ignorance breeds prejudice. So as long as we inform, there will be less prejudice in the world.

Patsy's ABS Story  Patsy's ABS Story  Patsy was born in 1965 with ABS. She has a missing ring finger & band around the middle finger of her left hand. On her right hand all four fingers were fused the thumb was unaffected. Both of her feet were clubbed.

Megan's ABS Story  Megan's ABS Story  born in 1993 with ABS affecting her left arm by not letting it develop from the elbow down. Megan is adjusting to High School and learning to stand up to those who stare or make an inappropriate comment.
  Krissy's ABS Story  On her right hand the fingers except the pinky were webbed. On her left hand, she is missing the middle finger and her index has banding and a really plump knuckle. Her left foot is missing two toes and is one size smaller, but there was no "clubbing" on either.

  Kaye's ABS Story  Kaye was born in 1979 with ABS - she had a band around her left leg just above the knee and a club foot and extremely diminished feeling, the first three toes of her right foot were affected. Both hands were also affected. She has normal thumbs and index fingers on both hands. The rest of her fingers were webbed. She has had about fourteen surgeries.
Katie's ABS Story  Katie's ABS Story  After reading so much on this site, I consider myself one of the lucky ones. One missing finger (middle finger right hand) and that's it. The amniotic band wrapped around my whole right hand, and I still have marks from it on my other fingers, but my middle finger is the only one gone.
  Julia's ABS Story  Julia was born in 1979 with ABS affecting both hands. She has both thumbs, and a left pinkie, the rest of her fingers are stunted and/or missing. She does not have either middle fingers or a right index finger.
  John's ABS Story  John was born in 1976 with ABS - he was only 2.2 lbs at birth. John has had 27 operations - His right leg was missing the tibia and had an S shaped fibula. His left leg had many bands around the leg and foot. The right leg was broken and it was a clubbed foot. His mom tells their story.
  Jim's ABS Story  Jim says, "Take your "difference" and work with it. Yes, there will be times you get upset because... but don't let it bring you down. You were made the way you are for a reason. Find it, love it, and be who you are meant to be. And if some cute little browned eyed girl looks as if she wants to ask you why, simply answer her. You never know what will happen next."

  Jeanine's ABS Story  born in 1983 with Amniotic Band Syndrome. ABS affected four fingers on her left hand, her left arm above the elbow and her right leg was about an inch shorter and clubbed.
  Jamie's ABS Story  born with all of fingers attached on both hands and only about a forth of the size of normal fingers, a very tight band around her right leg, and all of her toes are shorter than most peoples with slight deformities on the big toes and the toes right next to them.
  Hope's ABS Story  Hope was born in 1943, at that time no one said "ABS" or "Constriction Band Syndrome" her parents were only told that her left hand and right foot had "gotten caught" in her mother's womb.
Evan's ABS Story  Evan's ABS Story  This is my son's story. Evan was born with amniotic band syndrome affecting his left hand and bilateral clubfeet. Here I share our experiences through five surgeries.
  Elin's ABS Story  Elin says that her "deformed" fingers haven't stopped her from doing what she wants to do. ABS effected both of Elin's hands and her right foot. On her right hand she has a normal pinky and thumb; on her left hand the pinky is normal. Elin was also born with Neurofibromatosis
