Amniotic Band Syndrome - ABS
Forgotten Children

Sponsor a ChildFORGOTTEN CHILDREN IN DEVELOPING COMMUNITIES: This little girl, Gift is her name, was born with amniotic band syndrome affecting her right leg above the knee and a clubfoot (Read Gift's Story).  Gift has a loving mother but there are other children not so lucky.  Many parents simply cannot cope, they are ashamed of their disabled child so they lock them away, hidden in a dark room at the back of a hut, forgotten. The Forgotten Children Rescue Fund has been set up to extend medical care to these children.

Christian Blind Mission International (CBMI) is about more than just eyes. CBMI opens its doors to men, women and children with a variety of disabilities. These people have a great deal of potential, but very little opportunity to overcome their disabilities.  The need is great. Clubfeet, one of the most common congenital deformities worldwide, affects at least one out of every 1000 babies born. Malnutrition is responsible for bone softening, resulting in severe “knock knees” or bowed legs. Polio, cerebral palsy, and tuberculosis of the spine still take a terrible toll on the developing world.

You can make a difference.  Currently, CBMI provides medical treatment to 83,000 orthopaedic patients and rehabilitative care to 167,000 people with disabilities other than blindness. But there is more they can do!

PLEASE SPONSOR A CHILD - $25.00 a month for one year provides complete treatment for a disabled child. You can transform a child by sponsoring the surgery critical to healing their disabilities. Children with the affects of Amniotic Band Syndrome, clubfeet, cleft palate, polio and many other fully treatable disabilities are waiting for someone like you to sponsor their surgery.

The Forgotten Children Rescue Fund is a program of Christian Blind Mission International. While I personally support a child this site is not affiliated with CBMI.
